Twenty-nine SMS students from Mr. Jamsa’s 8th grade science classes brought 20 science projects to the regional science fair in Eugene on Saturday, March 3th.  Projects were alll very different and interesting, ranging from gluten-free cakes, to better bio-diesel fuel, to raising the engine block on a car.  Our 8th graders represented the Silverton Middle School community well!  After the judging, students spent the afternoon attending a lab and watching a chemistry/physics demonstration.  Ten of the projects were selected to move on and represent Silverton Middle School at the Northwest Science Expo on April 13th at Portland State University.  Great job!  And congratulations to all who participated!
