Happy Friday Silverton Middle School Parents and Families!

SMS Information:
A BIG shout out to three of our Silverton Middle School staff who were nominated by their peers as Employees of the Year! Congratulations Marie Traeger for being nominated as the Middle School Teacher of the Year and Congratulations to both Florentino Cuevas and Rafael Cervantes for being nominated as Classified Employees of the Year. If you see one of these folks, be sure to give them a high five!

If you child is not up to date on their immunizations, you will be receiving a letter from the Marion County Health Department indicating so. If your child recently received the booster, please bring a copy of the record that indicates they are up to date to the office.

State Law requires that each Oregon school district notify families of their right to exempt (opt out) their child from the summative English language arts and/or Math tests given this spring, including the Smarter Balanced and Extended Assessments. Please see the attached documents that outline this process.

Please take a look at the updated school snow bus routes that are now posted on the Silver Falls School District Website. There are changes to most snow routes this year, so please take the time to familiarize yourself with your route. It is important to be proactive and review this information before you need it and be ready to go should we have inclement weather. Please also remember that if we have snow routes in the morning, regardless of how much weather conditions improve throughout the day, snow routes will be in effect for the afternoon as well.
