SMS Falcon Weekly Email
January 2nd – 5th
Happy New Year Silverton Middle School Parents and Families!
Please take a look at the updated school snow bus routes that are now posted on the Silver Falls School District Website. There are changes to most snow routes this year, so please take the time to familiarize yourself with your route. It is important to be proactive and review this information before you need it and be ready to go should we have inclement weather. Please also remember that if we have snow routes in the morning, regardless of how much weather conditions improve throughout the day, snow routes will be in effect for the afternoon as well. Here is the link to the SFSD website: https://silverfallsschools.org.
The Silverton Middle School Food Drive dates are January 2nd through January 22nd. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
The SMS Winter Wonderland Dance is Friday, January 5th, from 7-9pm. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Chaperones are needed. Please email Jessy Larsen if you have a valid background check on file and want to help out. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
7th graders are required to have the 6th in the series of the TDAP booster. Please have your child get their booster prior to January 15th, as we need time to process the documentation before Exclusion Day. Contact your personal care provider to get information about your child’s immunization records.
ASAP (After School Activities Program) is now open to 6th graders!!! Applications can be obtained on their website, www.asapsilvertonor.org or in the office. ASAP is on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s and SMS students will ride Bus #15 to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, which is located at 303 N. Church St., 3-6pm. Wednesday’s SMS students will stay at SMS, 3-4:30pm. The Director of ASAP is Hillary Boost and her contact email is email@example.com and she can be reached at 971-301-4434.
Did you know that we are a Box Top School? It’s EASY MONEY! Clip the Box Tops off of all different kinds of purchased products, bring them to school in a Ziploc bag or envelope with your name on it, and give to your AG teacher or leave in the office for Mrs. Martinson. We will keep track of the quantity each of you are bringing in and we will likely have a party or a prize will be given to the winners with the most submitted by the end of the school year! More details to follow, but you can start collecting and submitting NOW! https://www.boxtops4education.com
Please remember to drop your children off in the designated carpool area only. The curb in front of the SMS Office is for buses only, it is not a drop off and pick up zone for students.
Attention SMS families who are members of the Armed Forces on Active Duty or are full-time National Guard. We have a new office form that we need you to fill out and return to us. Please see the attached document and let us know if you have any questions about it.
The SMS Parent Club is selling Falcon T-shirts for $10. You can send your student with cash or a check made out to Silver Fox Foundation.
