SMS Falcon Weekly Update
February 12th – 16th
Greetings Silverton Middle School Parents and Families!
REMINDER: Monday is an Early Release day. Students will be dismissed from school at 12:55pm.
Parents of 8th graders, please read the attached flyer outlining the 8th Grade Family Night that will be held on Wednesday, February 21st, 6:00pm at Silverton High School.
Parents of 6th graders, there will be an Outdoor School meeting on Tuesday, February13th at 6pm in the SMS cafeteria. The 6th grade team will be there to help answer questions about the trip and to hand out registration forms.
Student report cards were mailed on Wednesday, February 7th, please check your mailboxes and contact the school if you did not receive one.
Exclusion day is Wednesday, February 21st. If you received a letter in the mail from Marion County your child is in danger of being excluded from school. In order to prevent that from happening, please bring updated shot records to the office prior to February 21st.
Student drop off & pick up reminder….please DO NOT make a left hand turn onto Brown Street when you are exiting the parking lot. Making a left hand turn creates a backup of cars and is a safety hazard for the children.
Did you know you can now view your child’s meal account balance and pay online? It’s true! Just visit the Mealtime Pay Online website (http://www.mymealtime.com) and sign up for an account. You can add all of your Silver Falls School District students to your account and view all their meal balances in one easy-to-use location. Please note: you will require the student ID (aka the “lunch number”) for each child you wish to add. Please check with your students, as most of them know their number already. If you need further assistance, please contact your child’s school. You can always find this link and current meal menus on the SFSD website, on the meal menus page, found here: http://silverfallsschools.org/lunch-menus/.
It’s Box Tops submission time again! Turn in your Box Tops before the March 1st submission deadline so they can be included in our school’s April check. It is our last chance this school year to earn cash for our school. All Box Tops turned in after this date will go toward next fall’s check. Thanks for your help! Student AG classes will be competing with their collections for a chance to win a Popcorn Party!
Congratulations to the 7th grade students who were nominated for the Ashland Trip in September! Their application paperwork will need to be turned in by February 23rd to Mrs. Martinson. Questions? E-mail email@example.com
WyldLife is this Saturday night, February 10th from 7-8:30pm at the Mark Twain gym. It is a fun filled evening that is open to all 6th-8th graders. Come and bring a friend!
