Weekly Parent Email for the Week of:

September 11th – 15th

Good Morning Silverton Middle School Parents and Families!

Let me introduce myself, my name is Jennifer Wollersheim and I am the new Office Manager at Silverton Middle School.  Sarah Wiesner is our Registrar and Jessica Larsen is our new Secretary.  We are all very excited that the school year has started and that all the students and staff are back on campus! I will be sending you a weekly parent email to keep you up-to-date on what is happening at our school. Please take a few minutes to read the weekly email and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

SMS Information:

Parents please remember that the curb in front of the Silverton Middle School building is not a drop off and pick up area.  Please see the attached map Drop off Map 17-18 that outlines the process for picking up and dropping off your child.  During the school day the curb in front of our building is reserved for shuttle buses.  We have hourly shuttle buses that run between Silverton Middle School and Silverton High School as well as Mark Twain Elementary.

If you have bus questions, please reference the online route schedule that Durham Bus Services has provided at: http://silverfallsschools.org/bus-routes/.

When you are sending money to the office for fees and lunch, please separate them.  The District Office has asked that parents please not combine lunch monies with school fees in one check because it’s a complex process to separate them.  Many thanks!

Hat Reminder ~ Thursday’s only!

Bus Forms – If you child is going to go home with a friend or is taking a bus somewhere other than their normal bus route home, Durham Bus Service now requires parents to fill out an  “Alternate Stop – Student Bus Note”.  Students can obtain this Alternate Stop note in the office if there is going to be a change in their after school schedules.  There is also a copy of the new form attached to this email.  Alternate Bus Form    Students will not be allowed to ride a bus that is different than their bus without this note.

If you are applying for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program, please turn in your applications ASAP.  Applications can be found online or in the office. The deadline for applying is fast approaching, so please get them turned in.
