Falcon Sixth Grade classes recently finished their final Social Studies unit on countries in North, Central and South America. Working in groups, students learned much about their country’s culture, food, economy, government, and physical geography. They wrote reports, made Power Point presentations to share with fellow students, created the country’s flag, and researched popular customs and foods from their countries. The culmination of all this hard work was the fabulous FESTIVAL OF AMERICAS, held in the SMS Gym on the evening of June 1st! During this event, students shared their new knowledge with attendees, as well as sold $.25 tickets which could be used to purchase fantastic food, crafts and jewelry that represented the culture of their country. Students raised money to go toward a trip to Lincoln City the last week of school.
This is a popular annual event, and we would love for you to join us next year!
